About Charitable and What We Do

Charitable is a digital platform designed to connect donors – both individuals and businesses – with registered charities, nonprofit organizations (NPOs), and NGOs working to improve society and the environment.

Our platform provides the tools to support worthy causes by enabling donations to approved beneficiaries. Donors are free to choose which campaigns or organizations they’d like to support, and how much they wish to contribute. The minimum donation amount is R10.00.

Only organizations that have been verified and approved on our platform are eligible to receive funds. We do our best to ensure that every listed organization is legitimate and qualifies to receive donations. If a group isn’t on our database, they can’t receive contributions through Charitable.

Donation Process and Disbursement

All donations on Charitable are made online using payment methods provided on our platform, including credit and debit cards.

Once a fundraising cycle ends, the collected funds – minus applicable processing fees, platform transaction charges, and any required taxes – are transferred to the designated bank account of the approved beneficiary within 30 days.

For emergency or high-priority campaigns (such as disaster response efforts), we may speed up the payout process and transfer funds every 14 days, provided the initiative has been verified and meets our criteria for expedited processing.

We follow industry standards to securely process donations and verify beneficiary accounts, ensuring funds are delivered accurately and safely.

Please refer to our Pricing and Fees Policy for details on how fees are handled, disbursement schedules, and security protocols.

Important: At Charitable, we do our best to offer a safe and reliable platform for giving. However, please keep in mind that we are not a financial advisor, broker, bank, or charity. The choice to support a particular organization is always yours, and we encourage you to give thoughtfully based on what feels right for you. Please note that donations are non-refundable, additionally, we are not liable for financial losses resulting from donations, fraud, or third-party actions.

Membership for Charities and Organizations

The “Commencement Date” for an organization refers to the date it is officially approved to use Charitable’s services. From that point, Charitable will provide access to its platform, and the organization agrees to follow all relevant policies and obligations as outlined in these Terms of Service.

If you’re interested in registering your organization – or need to terminate an existing membership – please reach out to us for guidance on [email protected]

Charitable reserves the right to suspend or permanently remove a beneficiary’s account if it is found to be in violation of our Terms of Service or registration criteria.

Please note that approved beneficiaries are not considered vendors of Charitable and are not compensated by us for their content, campaigns, or causes. To help keep beneficiary accounts current, Charitable may offer incentives for sharing content, updates, and impact stories that donors can view.
